Train for Fitness. Train for Skill.

People come to boxing for different reasons.

Some want one of the most challenging full-body workouts they can find. Others want to actually learn boxing—footwork, defense, timing, movement, combinations, strategy, and how to perform under pressure.

At Williamsburg MMA, you don't have to choose.

Our classes are designed around two parallel paths: physical development and technical proficiency.

If your goal is fitness, you'll train hard, improve conditioning, coordination, strength, speed, and endurance while learning a real skill.

If your goal is boxing proficiency, the same training develops the technical foundation needed to continually improve—from your first class through advanced training and sparring.

A Serious Workout

Boxing demands more than simply getting your heart rate up.

Classes challenge your conditioning, coordination, balance, reaction time, muscular endurance, and ability to continue performing while tired.

The result is a workout that develops the entire body while keeping your mind engaged.

You're not exercising for the sake of exercising. You're getting in shape by learning how to box.

Real Boxing Technique

Fitness doesn't replace technique.

Students learn stance, footwork, punching mechanics, defense, angles, distance, timing, combinations, and decision-making.

As students progress, drills become more complex and demanding, allowing technique to develop alongside conditioning.

Beginners can start from zero. Experienced students can continue refining their skills.

Fitness Through Proficiency

We believe the two sides actually improve each other.

Better technique allows you to move faster, work longer, and train harder. Better conditioning allows you to maintain your technique when you're tired and under pressure.

That's why our classes can be physically demanding without sacrificing the craft of boxing.

Boxing for Beginners in Brooklyn

You do not need experience to start.

Beginner students focus on:

  • Learning to move correctly

  • Understanding range and timing

  • Building confidence without ego

  • Staying safe and injury-free

Classes are structured, coached, and paced. No one is thrown into sparring before they’re ready. Progress is earned through consistency, not toughness.

What Makes Our Boxing Program Different

Most boxing gyms focus on memorizing combinations.
We focus on movement, awareness, and decision-making.

Our program emphasizes:

  • Proper stance and posture

  • Efficient footwork and angles

  • Defensive responsibility

  • Distance management

  • Calm decision-making under pressure

Safety, Control, and Longevity

We prioritize:

  • Technical control over intensity

  • Smart partner work

  • Clear communication

  • Coaching feedback in real time

Training is guided by an individualized teaching approach. Students progress at their own pace, with coaching adjusted to experience level, learning style, and goals. This creates an environment where students stay focused, calm, and engaged; even under pressure

Our goal is not to “win rounds.”
Our goal is to build capable, calm, and confident students who can train for years.

Boxing for Adults

Boxing classes are available for  adults who are looking to:

  • Build confidence

  • Improve coordination

  • Reduce stress

  • Develop discipline and focus

  • Self-defense

  • Proficiency in combat

  •

The environment is serious but welcoming. No egos. No posturing. Just work

A Boxing Program That Fits a Bigger System

At Williamsburg MMA, boxing is taught alongside:

  • Muay Thai

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

  • Judo

  • Wrestling (freestyle, folkstyle, and Greco-Roman)

  •

This allows students to understand how striking and grappling interact, even if they choose to focus primarily on boxing.
